Olivia Trono
Olivia is a proud MLC Alumna and no longer with the Centre.
Olivia Trono holds a BA in Indigenous Studies and Literature and Critical Theory from the University of Toronto (2014-2018) and an MA in Communication and Culture (Ryerson and York Universities, 2018-2020). Her SSHRC-funded MA project involved interviewing podcast creators and listeners to identify the ways in which podcasts shape individual lives, communities, and cultures. Interested more broadly in how forms of media and storytelling create and shape (sub)cultures, Olivia uses new media as a method of research creation and knowledge mobilization. Olivia is excited to be involved at the MLC as a Research Fellow. She is also the Communications Coordinator for Modernisms, Inside & Out (2021)—a conference organized collaboratively by the MLC, the Canadian Women Artists History Initiative, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
