Modern Literature & Culture Research Centre & Gallery

As an MLC Research Fellow, Joanna Cleary provides support with research articles, grant applications, the Pandemic Webinar Series, and more. Having completed a BA (Honours) in English Literature and Theatre and Performance at the University of Waterloo (2015-2020), she is passionate about the intersection of cultural history, embodied experience, and identity. Joanna is also a playwright and published poet and believes that practical application is essential to enhancing the theoretical study of the humanities. She is therefore thrilled to support the MLC Research Centre’s mission to further research on modern literature and culture by combining traditional study with creative practice.
