Modern Literature & Culture Research Centre & Gallery

Kristen Jess is a BA student majoring in English, and minoring in History at Ryerson University (2013-2017). She joined the MLC Research Centre with a desire to study the impact of war on civilian populations, including the First World War and its effect on contemporary Canadian society. Her interests include the influence of war on cultural development, and the changing means of reflecting societal structures in literature. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, Kristen plans to pursue studies in publishing and hopes to work in the field in the future. She is excited to gain valuable experience in research methods and publishing working closely with Dr. Gammel and her team
